LOGO POINT BLANK

MARKUSBesides that inflationary media consumption we expose ourselves everyday, is still a world existing which can offer us its own depth, its own pace and its own beauty.

This project is an attempt to stop and look to the side. To get closer to things I usually missed to see. The POINT BLANK Project starts at March 31 2015.

Hope to meet you there!

Capital of the week: BONN (TOP5) / BOCHUM (TOP5)

PABUCA Capital of the week is…

BONN

the TOP5 is choosen by Markus (Bochum)

Bonn –  ON THE RHINE: Die Technik in diesem Bild hat mir gezeigt wie man Räume schafft.

Bonn –  RESISTANCE:  ‘Less is more’ kling oft so abgedroschen. Issesabergarnich!

PABUCA Capital of the week is…

BOCHUM

the TOP5 is choosen by Christian (Bonn)

Thank you for more than 40.000 view and 3.700 inspiring comments during the last year. Thank you for participating. That was a great time:

This is our last theme in PABUCA and we would like to thank all participants for their passion for this project with great entries and discussions, all supporters for their likes, links and comments and all silent readers for their interest. PABUCA takes a break for a uncertain time. But don’t delete it from your reader. First it’s time to make something different and we would be proud, when you still go along with us. PABUCA Capital of the week is…

Flensburg

by Maike

11038902_847323642007864_6536389751687094172_o.jpg

Very special photos again from Maike. What city can offer that: Sports on the Baltic Sea? Flensburg!

Important notice: PABUCA is no contest. PABUCA is a platform for sharing impressions of towns and an incentive to look for it. So “The capital of the week” is no winner of the theme or necessarily the “best shot”. We wouldn’t presume to declare something like that. But it’s an example, which in our subjective opinion unterlines the idea of PABUCA: To illustrate the soul of the city.

PABUCA Capital of the week is…

Numbers so well enclosed in Hannover’s daily life. Katharina told us her nice story of baker men, vintage coach travels and a (now and justifiably so) fired and unemployed advertising agent. 😉

“3”   Bermuda Triangle / Bermudadreieck

“8”

“1848”   Not only the 5 3 (my bday btw) in the upper left corner was important for Bochum. As well the 1848, as the year where the VfL Bochum was founded, got a symbolic meaning for the natives here. You can found this number as well on many license plate at cars.

I remember of some great moments in 2014 and look forward to repeat them.

Markus, Bochum:

HOPFENGARTEN     Our extended living room. Crossover cuisine restaurant (Westphalia/World) with a cosy pub (they served FIEGE beer and broadcasted the VfL away games) and a nice beer garden. – But it closed now. We feel homeless.

MOTORWAY JUNCTION     Every time I use that motorway junction I am reminded of my childhood, because we used that one when we were visiting relatives. But all the times when the memories popped up I was wondering: why THAT one reminds me and not any other street? And then I got it. There is no pavement marking to both sides of the road and this make it look like 40 year ago!

GUMBALL MACHINES     Against all hygienic regulations and the Geneva Convention on Conventional Weapons… …they are still there: Gumball Machines

UNIVERSITY OF APPLIED SCIENCE:  Founded in 1816 as a Miningschool, the ‘TFH Georg Agricola’ is nowadays a university of applied science with courses of study for earth science, mechanical-, process-  and electrical Engineering. With its 2.000 students it’s a familiarly and pleasant place to study. How do I know this? I studied there and I loved it. Absolute brilliant liaison between students and professors.

Markus, Bochum:

Stufen
